Sato Haruo

Satō Haruo was a Japanese poet, novelist, and critic of the Taishō and Shōwa periods whose lyric poetry was central to the aestheticist movement in Japanese literature. He was also a noted translator of Chinese classical poetry into Japanese and a literary mentor to younger writers. He served on Japan's literary prize committees and was a significant figure in the Japanese literary establishment of the mid-twentieth century.
