About
The goddess Venus passionately pursues the beautiful but indifferent young Adonis, pleading for his love while he is intent only on hunting. When a boar kills Adonis on the hunt, the grief-stricken Venus transforms him into an anemone flower and retreats from the world, cursing love to be forever painful.
