The Marvelous Land of Oz
by L. Frank Baum from 1904
About
The Oz sequel (1904) introduces Tip, a boy who discovers he is actually Princess Ozma transformed by magic, and a cast of new Oz characters including the Sawhorse, the Gump, and the Army of Revolt. The sequel is more politically pointed than the original — the Army of Revolt is an all-women army that is played both for comedy and for genuine feminist commentary. As group reading, the ensemble of new Oz characters gives additional roles.
