Bajki
by Adam Mickiewicz from c. 1820s–1830s
About
Mickiewicz — Poland's greatest poet, known for the epic Pan Tadeusz — also wrote a small collection of verse fables that show his command of the short satirical form. Brief, sharp, and politically observant, these fables reveal the satirical vein in a poet better known for romantic grandeur. As group reading, the short fables (3-5 minutes each) work well for Polish-speaking groups.
