Measure for Measure

by William Shakespeare from c. 1603–04

About

Duke Vincentio of Vienna steps aside and lets the puritanical Angelo govern in his place, only for Angelo to sentence a man to death for fornication and then proposition the man's sister Isabella for sex. The duke, disguised as a friar, orchestrates a series of bed-tricks and substitutions to expose Angelo's hypocrisy and deliver justice.
