The Blue Fairy Book
by Andrew Lang (ed.) from 1889 (anthology; tales of ancient origin)
About
Lang's Blue Fairy Book (1889) — the first of his famous color series — collected European fairy tales including Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rumpelstiltskin, Jack and the Beanstalk, and many others. The series introduced a generation of Victorian children to the fairy tale tradition from across Europe and became the defining anthology of the form. As group reading, individual tales (15-30 minutes) work at all ages.
